What is Balloon Sinuplasty?

Balloon Sinuplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that opens sinus passages to  relieve the pain and pressure associated with chronic sinusitis.

Balloon Sinuplasty uses a small, flexible, balloon catheter to open up blocked sinus passageways and facilitate natural airflow and  drainage of the mucous that builds up in patients suffering from chronic sinusitis.

When the sinus balloon is inflated, it restructures and widens the walls of the sinus passageway while maintaining the integrity of the sinus lining.

Unlike conventional sinus surgery, it does not include removal of bone or tissue from the nose. Balloon Sinuplasty allows patients to return to normal activities quickly.  Balloon Sinuplasty is offered at Westside Head and Neck as an in-office procedure under local anesthesia so that there is no need to go to an operating room, undergo general anesthesia, or incur hospital fees.
